The President Should Spend less time attacking the Media

President Trump has been in office for 70 days now, and so far I would say that there is nothing of great accomplish for his administration. President Trump is a new kind of president that communicates through Twitter a lot.  On many occasion, President Trump has complained about the media and “Fake News.”

However, the President has opened himself up to this kind of attacks on his character. Not only that but when he is not happy about the news been report about him, he calls it fake new or what to find ways to change laws that limit journalist in their job. On  March 30,  2017, President Trump tweeted from his  Twitter account to change Libel laws. All because of an article published by the New York Times that he believe is a false statement on his persona.

Now he wants to change libel laws to sue organizations that do unfavorable coverage. However, President Trump is not the first president that has had hostile coverage, but he makes it easy for the media to target him because of his crazy tweets all the time and policies that seem to go nowhere. First, there was the travel band of seven muslin countries that was block by the court. There is also the failure of replacing  Obamacare.

I believe there are more pressing issues he should be working on then worrying about the media. For example, his budget that would cut lots of programs like education, justice, and much more. I believe this are the thing the Trump administration should spend their time on.  Not attacking the media and trying to change laws that limit journalist to do their job. There are more important things that require his attention, and his budget is one of them.

The connections between President Trump and Russia

On March nine, 2017 Nicholas Kristof from the New York Times wrote an article in his Opinion page title " Connecting Trump's Dots to Russia." Mr. Kristof main focus is the connections between President Trump and Russia. And how there has not been an investigation on the matter of Russia involvement in the U.S elections. I could not agree more with Mr. Kristof that is a central issue we should remain focus on. Just like Mr. Kristof I still wonder until this day if Russia did have anything to do with the election. To me, this is important because if another country can change our votes and impact who becomes our next president, this is something scary to think of. Another point that Mr. Kristof brought up and I agree with him is how the Trump administration denies any ties to Russia. Why go through so much trouble to deny any communication with Russia officials if it is like they say nothing to do with the elections or any national business. Now the big question is why is the President not releasing his tax returns. Is it possible that this could put him in jeopardy or should we just move on and forget about those tax returns.  We have a right to know if there were any connection between President Trump aides and Russia. If there were any link between the two why is it been investigated? Nevertheless, Mr. Kristof brought up excellent points that are still unanswered by the government.I believe that the points brought by Mr. Kristof are reasonable and the government should provide answers to those question so we can move.
